Injectors with high pressure

I am putting rings in my Ford 4000 (3 cyl) diesel so I sent the injectors out to be cleaned and tested. The guy said they tested at "too high" a pressure so after he cleaned them he would adjust them back into the serviceable range. I can imagine what too low a pressure would do (poor spray pattern and/or combustion); can anyone tell me the consequence of too high a pressure?

The issue would be how high of an injector pop pressure the injection pump is designed to work with.

If extremely high, there's a risk of injection pump damage..
