Kubota issue

Question on a Kubota. A coworker has a issue with an 2005 Kubota Contractor Special, it will run when started but is extremely difficult to start. He believes this unit has a small mechanical pump to prime the main fuel pump when starting. Anybody familiar with this system know if the small pump has failure problems?

I had a 5140 CaseIH , that had to be primed if it sat for a couple days , on the first start . Would run and start fine after the first start. I finally found a very small leak in the fuel line from the tank to the pump. After sitting for a few days , the fuel would seep back down the line to the tank . You could have a similar problem .

Our Kubota skid steer would run for awhile and then die. Wait a few minutes and then it would start and run for a few. Dealer said the filter was dirty and they replaced it. I tried it later that day and it died and would not start...They put filter in backwards and it plugged the outlet. The unit only had around 50 hrs on it and they could not fix it. I finally replaced the fuel lines and has run fine ever since.

O K Mo lets start at the top, been around KUBOTA 28+ years and hard to tell what a contractor special is.. Are we talking about a tractor, back hoe or skid -steer. Get me a model number and we will do some trouble shooting to determine the problem. Sounds like air in the fuel system but get me a model number please so I can know what system we are dealing with.
