chisel plowed 50 ac yesterday, few hundred more to go. never plowed in february befor.got the grandaughtor spreading fert today, I;am still plowing. anybody else doing anything?
 
a few guys cleaning barns out here in Northern Indiana since its nice and dry right now.

Saw a Dutchman (aka Amish) plowing with horses yesterday.
 
I have seen a lot of tractors running and fertilizer spreader going around southern Indiana. I got all my deep tillage done last fall so my tractors are still in the shed. Dad got out the tractor and tiller and hit the garden one pass to mulch the leaves in.
 
Just came in from plowing gardens. Son was hooking up disc to plow up new ground that he had cleared and root raked.

I can remember in Iowa 1977 farmers were in the field in February. Farmers didn't raise a crop that year because of drought conditions.

SE WI- Too wet yet- we need a storm to get the last of the frost out. Lake Ice will be gone soon... the previous record was March 7 (2012). The warm weather records we beat here lately were from 1976. Also a drought year. Hmmmm.
 
Started plowing 40 acres on the Friday the 17th and finished Sunday the 19th. In East Central Illinois. It worked just like our ground always does in the spring. Some of it plowed like a garden, some of it made tombstones.
