thanks for the info on the hatz diesel. the fan belt was broke, causing the tensioner to go full travel and not allowing the engine to start. ive worked on these forklifts for years and this is the first time ive run across that. I've replaced several alternators on these units and I guess I just never noticed the "pin" that pops out when the tensioner travels that far. but thanks again.
