I need a blowup of the gearbox under the mixing tank ,,. for some reson mine is stuck ,. some movement , but I fear it is coglokt in the gear box ,,. I think I need to drop the gear box ,,. not sure if mixing auger is splined and sitting on the floor or if it is pinned to the gearbox,.. many thanx , jim

I can tell you on a New Holland, that shaft is splined. I really doubt it would be pinned on, but I could be wrong. What can happen with those gear boxes is the top seal can get damaged, and let ground feed in. Needless to say, that is not good!

That's a heck of a deal ain't it? All they show is a Farmhand 810 defoliator. Not much help from me,but on a New Holland, you have to take the inspection cover off the bottom of the mixer and take a bolt or two out of the top of the gearbox that goes down in from the top. On a Gehl you don't.
I know the Gehl came off easier than the NH. It's just had a 9 spline shaft. The NH has a 21 spline. On each one,I had to get up on top with a sledge hammer and hit the top of the mixer auger to jar it loose. It took a lot more hitting on the NH.

Mine started locking up on the NH. If I'd turn it backwards,it would go again for a while. The top bearing was coming apart and one of the rollers was floating in to the gears.

I rebuilt one for a neighbor about 3 yrs. ago but I'll be darned if I can remember. You know what they say-- The mind is the first to go and I can't remember what the next is. I took it apart and sent him to dealer to get the parts about 80 miles away. He came back with the parts and a 12 row planter that was on their lot.
