I have this crazy idea about put a old car motor on an old 2 string baler I am think like any old car or pickup motor from any year I was wondering how Many problem I would run to and if it even worth it

Engines I've seen utilized as power units for farm equipment had a governor. I haven't seen a automobile engine with a governor from the factory except some truck engines.

As far as the governor is concerned you should be able to get a belt drive one they were used on many stationary power units that started as automotive or industrial engines. I would wonder more about the belt drive, clutch setup and or gear reduction and clutch that may be needed. You have to be able to match the needed machine speed to the peak power rpm's of the engine.
