Great scene....

My sister just emailed me a bit that I would have posted if I could have figured out how to forward it.

A fellow took his beautifully restored '55 Chevy convertible out for a drive, and in the process had the urge to stop for some ice cream. There was a long line in the ice cream shop and when he came back out his car was gone.

The police found the car later, unharmed, near a gas station. The cashier said three young men came in, prepaid $20 for gas, then walked around the car for several minutes and got in and left without pumping the gas. Seems they couldn't find the gas filler cap.

Does anyone remember where it was on a '55 Chevy?

Right. The left taillight flipped down with the gas cap inside.

About a year ago here some juveniles at a boys home overpowered the guard and got his car keys and were going to take ovv but none of them knew how to drive a stick shift car.

Years ago someone stole my brother's XK 120 Jaguar, he reported to police, nothing, few days later took a different way to work and found the car. Locking gas cap, they took it for a joy ride until they were low on gas. Also they left some sports equipment in the car that wasn't there before it was stolen.
