anyone ever use UShip

I have used them a lot. Had an antique engine brought here from BC Canada and went smooth as silk, customs and all. Also had them handle many 800lb. Crates for my engine repair buisiness with never an issue, you will get a call fr a real person asking how things went, that's nice. Prices from the commercial shippers will be half or less from u ship than if you have same shipment quoted direct from freight line

Just a month ago...tractor from MO to cent. MI. Everything went perfectly and met new equipment hauler that lives 1 1/2 hrs away from me and likes to get home every other weekend. Works for me and price was my price. Worked for him because he was coming home anyway. Very safe and fair for all involved.

Just like anything else free you have to work your way thru and pick the valid and honest quotes. I like others always put something out there just to see what the quotes will be , and lots of times end up using the server.

The past week I submitted wanted haul ads on You Ship and U Ship and Ship Ship blah blah blah etc etc etc plus the YT Haul Board to ship a car from Florida to Indiana. I must have got like 50 e mails and phone calls from brokers and shippers with prices from around 48 cents to one dollar per mile. I ended up going with about the third to lowest bid as the company seemed more reliable and established. It was basically no up front money and cash upon delivery. The independent trucker who showed up was Two Vets Trucking, car left yesterday supposed to be in Indiana late tonight or early tomorrow. Some brokers submitted the absolute lowest bids but as some shippers warned me sure they quoted the lowest price BUT NO HAULERS showed up to take the job lol. If you submit an add on any of the web sites be prepared to be bombarded with offers from brokers but that don't mean any shipper will pick it up unless they already have loads headed that way and can take on one more car. Mine was the third on a 3 car hauler headed North. Some responses were from actual haulers but most from load brokers.

I have one time so far and you will get a bunch of people wanting to quote the haul, I sorted out the one that was closer to me and then started to talk to about 3 of them. each had a different cost on the load as it was a 500 mile one way trip and the load was wider than I could haul on my trailer. worked out fine and the driver stayed in contact with me so I knew were he was with load. work out fine.

My friend had a container out for bid on Uship . He had scammers that got cancelled by Uship. He had irresponsible bidders. He finally got a guy who put his container on a trailer and blew out tires all the way to Florida [ no extra cost -- low bidders problem]. His container was 24,000 lbs.

I have and had good experience. I had a 4010 hauled from Hugoton Ks to Fulton Mo, probably 600 miles for 1,000. Guy had a 25 foot gooseneck pulled with a pickup. You wouldn't believe all he had on there. Was a nice guy. I don't think I'd drive a car 600 miles for 1,000 bucks.

Don't mess around until you are ready to actually hire someone. If you get lucky, they may be heading right by and willing to give a deal rather than drive by with half a load.
