I have a 500 gallon skid mounted fuel tank set up for electric pump and a 300 gallon barrel on a stand. Neither has been used for 10-15 years and I am thinking to list on CL. Any suggestions for asking price? Thanks.

what ever u get take... because they are obsolete and tanks must be double lined now. not worth a lot.

Hi, I would think its all rusty in side. I'd make a field roller out of it. Ed Will Oliver BC

The skid mounted one here with working pump would be worth near $1 a gallon, maybe .75 cents a gallon.

The overhead one you can buy at farm sales for $2.50. Seriously, a tree fell on mine and hurt the stand, at a farm sale I bought 2 of them for $5 total. Sometimes I've seen them go $25 but I think people are after fancy/ old gas nozzles attached to them......

I bought a brand new, single-wall tank last January for about $1.33 per gallon. Less than the guy wanted to sandblast and paint my old one. (He knew enough to test blast the bottom couple of inches, it opened up pin hole leaks in several places) Took the old 500 gallon tank for scrap and got $21, I think.

Here in Michigan, tanks of less than 1000 gallons do not require double wall or a berm, as of 2015. Check your state's current requirements BEFORE you buy, can save you time and money- you may almost be forced to keep the old one (grandfathered in).

farm tanks are not double lined. overhead tanks are scrap value, I sold a good 500 gallon, tank only, at a consignment auction several years ago brought 35.00.
