What a Game - What a Comeback

Atlanta coaching mistake gave up the game.

Last drive on the 24 of NE. Run, Run, Run, FG, two score lead. Some idiot told Ryan to throw. Idiot.

Houston Oilers coach "Bum" Phillips said that in a tied game
the team who wins that coin toss usually wins in sudden death.

Isn't it funny how a simple "no-brainer" set of downs while in field goal/game winning range , is so overthunk as to cost a Super Bowl ? They could have, and in hindsight should have, kicked the field goal as soon as they had the range, especially with that little time on the clock and would have made a 2 possession game with no turnover possibilities.

He does have the most rings, thanks to playing for the best
COACH in NFL history. Guess you forgot they started the
season 4-0 playing the 2nd string QB & the 3rd string QB who had never played a regular season game.

Just like the last time they "won" thanks to Seattle's incredibly dumb decision to pass on the last play of the game from the 2 yard line rather than give the ball to the best short yardage running back in the NFL.

A running back who, I might add, was only 1 for 5 on that play in the past. Everybody figured he get the ball, and he'd have had no chance. The pass was a good call, Butler just got incredibly lucky to be at the right place at the right time.

I didn't know until I turned on the TV this morning. They had a clip of some low rate entertainer jumping around on a stage like an enraged gorilla making loud unintelligible sounds. Glad I didn't watch.

I didn't watch it, have no way of doing so any who, but I was rooting for Atlanta, only reason is they never won one before. Other then that I don't really care.

Patriots weren't actually playing the first half, they had their stunt doubles in while they got something to eat. After they returned they showed them how the game was played.

Up here in Canada, the CFL uses the same overtime rules (for the most part) that they use in US colleges. Makes sense and both teams have an equal opportunity to win, unlike the NFL version. Although the NFL rules are somewhat better than they used to be, now if the team with the first possession gets a field goal, they don't win the game (like was the case years ago). The other team gets a shot to tie it or win it (with a touchdown). Winning a game by a field goal never made sense to me ...... you can win from the middle of the field 50 yards from the opponents goal line. Sports, for whatever reason, are often reluctant to change rules even if they are archaic or don't make sense.

I agree Three minutes 30 seconds to go you got the ball on the 24 yard line, Two runs kick a field goal then Brady might come back but he has to do it two times in three minutes. Coaching mistake cost them the game , even though the Patriots did make a heck of a come back. Falcons should have won.

I am not a big fan of sports. I usually try and watch the super Bowl. I was getting sleepy and it was 28-3 figured it was over so I went to bed and didn't even record it. I was sure surprised when I heard the out come this morning ! I missed one of the best ever so it seems.
