Detroit Diesel 2-71

I"m working on Detroit Diesel 2-71 I"m looking for the lower pushrods part# 5178290 and the seats (they slide in the head) that the pushrods push on part# 5154539, for some reason the tops of my pushrods are worn bad and the bottoms of the seats look like the the pushrods wasn"t pushing in the center on them. anybody know a good source to find some? I"m installing this engine in a Farmall M

2-71 , 4-71 , 6-71 8V-71, 12V-71 or 16V-71 no matter . The bore , stroke, valve springs, valves , seats , cam followers Push rods etc are all the same . Just more cylinders although the V engines do tweek a few bottom end specks.
When rebuilding use the high compression N series piston/sleeve . Iirc the cam follower springs and valve springs were updated ? Use the C series injectors.
With C -70's and 2400rpm she is good for 90HP.

the 2-71 has a different valve train set up, the cam followers are in the block, the 3-71, 4-71, 6-71 ect the followers are in the head, I attached a parts catalog for the

Also i"m going to get new sleeves and pistons but for injectors I dont think the "C" style injectors will fit cause the 2-71 is a 2 valve head, I have some rebuilt N65"s and they wont fit, the fuel inlet and outlet is offset the injectors that came out were HV-7"s fuel inlet and outlet is straight across, offset injectors hit the rack, they make injectors that are HVN65"s basically there HV bodies machined to fit N gut"s in them. I want to go big as possible for injectors

I would put 92 injectors in it. Actually can bore the block and put 92 sleeves in. Take head to a good speed shop. 2 valve head doesn't matter. Time cam one tooth ahead.

Reid Diesel I think in PA. Specialize in Detroit have used and rebuilt parts good guys to work with. If you can't find it , email me and I'll look it up.

I'd love to see/hear more about this build as it progresses. I have a 2-71 that's been in the corner for a few years now.. Have been debating putting it into something, just haven't decided what.
