John Deere 2010 generator belt replacement

Hello, I have an old john deere 2010 diesel (yellow, loader backhoe), and i'm trying to replace the fan/generator belt. I was able to work the belt around the fan no problem (1 blade at a time), but on the crankshaft pulley, the shaft extends out to a hydraulic pump in the front. It looks like there is a shaft coupler that might allow me to disconnect and get the belt between, but it is not easy to access, and unclear how to get it apart. Is this the "best" way to get that belt on (disconnect the coupler?) and if it is, how does the coupler come apart (since it is not very accesible)

Thanks for any help

Jared

I've had similar issues along the way, and started using those twist lock belts that come apart and avoid removal of whatever is in the way. Anyone else? I bought an OC-3 that had a leather interlocking belt that looked like it had been there awhile and worked fine.

Remove bolts holding frt hyd pump to frt support then slide hyd pump & driveshaft far enough forward to slip belt in between shaft & hyd pump drive coupler

i recently put a twist lock on my farmall m. way easier and the belt works fine. (cut the old belt off with a pair of duckbills ssssssshhhhh)

Yes, I recently put a fenner drive twist lock belt on my old forklift, saved a huge amount of time and work. Works good. It was a b width belt if some don't know they come in all sizes.

I have a 2020 3020 [+13 more others] but those two are the closest to what you have. The 3020 I had the front end [above the wheels and beck to the rad] out of and it is fairly easy to put a belt on by just taking the coupler apart and wedging it down through. The 2020 looks about the same but i haven't got that one fixed yet. Personally i wouldn't put a coupler belt on just to avoid any problems that could mean the engine. I hope its easier than the Farmall A Cultivision of mine that I had to take the front and radiator off to get belts on. Good luck and have fun.
