Manual fuel trasfer pump

Anyone ever put a filter on a manual fuel transfer pump? I have never seen one with one. Thinking it would make the pump too hard to turn.
Thanks.

I recently got a Tuthill piston pump for my diesel barrel and installed a Goldenrod filter on the outlet. It made it a little harder to pump, but it is not bad. I had an old rotary pump that finally crapped out, the piston pump works much easier even with the filter.

My farm gas tanks have hand crank pumps with filters, with see through bowls, so I can see what's going on.
I have both hand crank and electric pumps on my fuel tanks. Both have the same spin on filter. No problem.

I used a spin on with a hand pump and a 12 volt. I didn't think it changed them much. I use the goldenrod element filters on my bulk tanks. I like to be able to drain anything I see. As long as that plastic stays clear, lol.

I would rather have a filter- which, by the way, puts little back pressure on the pump unless it's getting clogged- than have to walk a couple of miles when my carb or tractor filters clog up from tank crud or other debris. I have never had a fuel tank without a filter....
