I got a catalog from a nursery yesterday and this morning I saw two ants by the kitchen sink.

I like when the seed catalogs begin to show up in the mail, gives me hope for spring ! My yard is currently just like an ice rink.

here in south Central Texas don't kick a mound of dirt. you'll see lots of ants. the fire ants have erupted with the warm wet winter

I've been drooling on the Burgess catalog for 3 weeks. Now the catalog is soggy and spring is still 4 snow storms away.

The daffodils are up already here in Middle Tennessee. They're always early, but probably not this early. I put out hay for the animals this morning, and they haven't touched it. There's just enough green grass in the pastures for them to think that they need to graze instead of eating the hay.

Ingrates.

I was removing Asian honeysuckle from hillsides in gravel pit. I was buds on the honeysuckle. Though January 31 was early.

I sure wish false spring would go away for a while. the vet was just here. Said she's been running herself ragged treating sick calves. I had a cow yesterday that acted like she had a touch of pneumonia. She seems to be OK today,but I thought she'd be another one to add to the list.
