1030 Case Hydraulics.....

Hello out there.......I recently purchased a tractor that has been in our family since new- in 1968. 1030 Case....I also bought a GB 800 loader and fit it on the case......it has a "control valve" that came with loader- with two levers; one for bucket and one to lift loader. Ok...I'm having trouble with it working correctly. It seems that it does tilt the bucket- but very slow. The loader does go up and down - but very slow. Seems to increase some when I increase the RPM....I know this is kinda dumb on my part but- where do I check the Hydraulic oil. I need to start there...The only cap I have found so far is on the back of the tractor on the rear-end housing...has a short dipstick...im sure that is 85-140 for the rear-end? Surely there is another somewhere for the hydraulics? Please help.....thanks!

The rearend and hydraulics on your 1030 are all in one. Do not use 85/140 in it!!! It takes CNH Hi-Tran or a good universal trans/hyd. oil. If you have put the thick oil in it take it out.;
The brass suction screen is very fine and will restrict thick oil from entering the pump.
The dipstick is on the vent cap/fill at the rear LH of the tractor. You need about 15gal of hyd. oil to fill it.

That is the transmission and hydraulic dipstick. Use Case-IH hytran in the rearend and hyd. With a loader I always run it a couple gallons overfull. The hoses to your control valve should plug into a top left outlet and a top right outlet for the other one. The top couplers on each side are a circuit.

That cap you found with the dipstick is for the transmission and is the hydraulic oil level. The trans is full of hyd oil, do not pour gear grease in. How do you have the loader valve plumbed to the tractor? It could be that the tractors hyd system needs to be serviced also. Rod.

I don't have a 1030 but a 830 ck. I have not used my aux hyd just the 3 point. Are they the same left and right and not the two on the right and two on the left. Sorry to butt in . Jim

Ok...great replys...thanks. There are two hoses going to the "remote control valve"....I have them hooked under the seat on rh side of tractor housing; so my two levers up on right hand side of fender are used to control loader....I pull the "tall lever" , or outside lever, back and it feeds fluid to the control valve and operates the lift. Still now sure its hooked up right ; the loader will raise slow but acts like it is "gravity down....cause it does not go down any faster with control lever engaged or not engaged. also I cannot "role" the bucket when on the ground. ...like no pressure to it. Anyways...ill start with new fluid cause it does look "milky" in there when I pull the dipstick. Thank u guys.

Okay....Mr casecollector.... please advise cordially....I missed a few of the responses...and I am learning on this subject! You may have to help me further; one left and one right....on where? Viewing from the back of tractor - I currently am connected to two fittings on RH side of transmission - under the tank. The left side of transmission also has two fittings coming back with couplers to hook implements to. So do my two hoses from loader valve connect to both fittings on same side of tractor? I would think. Thanks for your help. And no the manual did not come with tractor- I can order one....may not help with hooking in a loader. Thanks again.

Ok...thanks. It is 28 here this morning - pulled dip stick and oil is dripping off stick ; would assume oil is right. No - I have not added any heavy weight oil. It is a clearish light brown and seems to be right weight. Thanks for your help. :)

Your hoses supplying the loader valve have to be hooked with one hose in the RH side coupler and one hooked in the opposite LH coupler, top or bottom. Once you have done that, you then have to determine which way to lock the corresponding remote lever to feed the inlet of your loader valve and not feed the outlet. You can switch hoses to change lever direction if desired.
Scroll down to the Case forum, with further questions. Us Case guys are not grumpy old tractor nuts, but we expect not to have to repeat simple instruction more than once, especially how to hook up the remotes.
