Put a remote start on my kubota

As part of my cab project I decided to give remote start a go. I'm using 2 wireless relay boxes from china, about $8 each, plus a 30a relay for the glow plugs. One relay bypasses the key switch to ON, the other is a 2 relay system which bypasses the starter and activates the starter solenoid and activates the glow plugs.

No more coming out to a cold tractor when it's time to blow snow.

Here's a video:

This isn't advanced enough to have trouble codes, or safety features. I always park in neutral with the blower down.

It'll probably only be used when I park in the carport between clearing of the snow, not in an enclosed garage, or when I'm visiting neighbors after clearing their driveway. It's not uncommon to go in for something warm.

I can hear it pretty well from anywhere I'm close enough to use the remote.

What happens when you accidently forget to leave it in neutral ??? It will happen sooner or later. Maybe a cardboard sign on your exit door from garage saying put it in neutral is in order.

I know you get tired of hearing it but I do have a little KUBOTA experience and I am thinking with the mismatched tires you are going to have front end trouble before long. Enjoy your cab and keep up the good work.

New tires are on the list for the spring. Not sure if I want to go R4's in the rear or turf's in the front. As long as it's not in 4wd it shouldn't be an issue, but if the tires are the correct size, wouldn't they have the same OD as the turfs?

Just looked, lowest price I saw was $160/tire for the fronts! I don't even want to know what the rears cost.

Depends upon what you mean by "correct" size. Kubota does not recommend R4/2/turfs FR or RF.

I ALWAYS make sure that my tractors are in between gears, neutral when I shut them down. Always. I NEVER leave one in gear, but caught someone using one once without permission when I grabbed the gear lever to slap it around to make sure that it was in neutral and it was in gear. They admitted it after I confronted them. Had I not grabbed that lever to check as I always do before hitting the starter button...

Good luck.

Who starts a tractor without first checking neutral and then depressing the clutch and then hitting the starter?

I guess I don't understand, Kubota lists R4's and turfs, I bought my L3400 brand new with with L4's

My X BIL farmed in Florida. Story goes that fields are laser leveled and flooded for irrigation. Irrigation is accomplished by things like 185 hp
Ford Industrial Y8 engines hooked to natural gas pipelines and are left to run for days on end. In the winter time the engine is warm when
everything else is cold and the Water Moccasin Poisonous Pit Vipers that frequent our Southern states (N. Tx. included) can be found all over
the irrigation pumps.

As a result he had to install remote start/stop switches so he could turn the things off when needed and not have to beat the snakes off the
thing to get at it.
