Bottle calves 101

It has been quite a while since we've had bottle calves on the farm.

Recently picked up a about half a dozen over the weekend.

Whats everyone doing for shots- immunizations? These are Holstein bull calves to be raised for finished beef. I don't really want to over vaccinate them, but I'm not sure what shots of supplements they should receive. They have just been getting milk replacer bottle fed 2x a day. I do not believe the got any shots or anything after birth.

We have had good luck with oral calf guard to prevent scours. Suppose to use it within the first 12hrs but i would use it any how. And if you have an out break give another dose that usually clears them up. The shots listed below are a good idea to. I would have something on hand for scours though. The first sign of scours they need to be treated and isolated pronto. Good luck.
