adding 3pt hitch

Good morning, New member to the group. I have recently bought a Frankenstein ford tractor. From what I can gather, its a ford 620 tractor with a early model 4000 rear end, and it has a Dearborn loader. It has a pto, but no 3pt hitch/lift. the rear end is blue (original color) while the front is all red. It is also sitting on 13.6-28 tires. I plan on building an external 3pt hitch for this unit, wanted to see if anybody else has, pointers or comments. Pic to follow. TIA

Welcome to the forum. Picture would help once you can post it.
How is your seat mounted? Originally it would have been mounted
on the hydraulic top cover on a 4000 with hydraulics.
Why not just put the original hydraulics/3pt back on it?
The guys on the Ford forum here on YT can probably help with
the parts if needed. Mention your general location so they know
who is close to you. Shipping is often a deal killer.

First thing to do is to check out our tractors serial numbers. You will then know what type and model of tractor you have. Then buy the correct manuals for it. You might find out the all you need to do is buy the arms because the hydraulic unit is there and that someone removed them. Or you might find that the system is defective and needs repairing and with the manuals you can do it yourself.
Good Luck

Tractor serial model is stamped behind starter, 620. serial number is 56604. This would be a 620, 1955 model year. According to the information i researched, the 620 had no 3pt hitch, hydraulics, or PTO. I assume someone put the 4000 rear end on it to have a PTO. The seat is mounted to the top cover, witch is blank, and there is nothing in the sorts of any 3pt hitch controls, except for a couple of bottom draw bars. I found a complete rear end off a 641, witch is what i was told this tractor was, but now after my research, im just thinking a add on 3pt hitch would be the way to go. Not necessarily looking for a era correct tractor, just a practical machine to work around my mini homestead.

I believe the prior 4000 was setup like the Jubilee and hundred
series Fords where the control, lift arms and everything are
on the top cover. Pump on the side of the engine, manifold from
the pump fed lines that went through the trans (under on a NAA)
to feed the top cover. This one is off a Jubilee.

Not trying to talk you out of aftermarket, I just don't know how
you would mount one on the back of a Ford other than making
some sort of bracket that hooks to the drawbar mount.

Don't know where you got the 4000 from but the rear is off a
600/601/2000
Need the top cover, arms to 3pt,manifold,pump,o rings, gasket and
should be good to go.

Yep, your right. Wheel base says 2000 not a 4000. It just has the larger tires that's all. Seeing how the 620 had no hydraulics, will this application still work? I know you had down a pump in material needed, but where does that run off of?

Right side of the engine where it meets the transmission.
Here's the pump on one of my Jubilees. Same place on yours.
Yours would not have separate lines, but an aluminum manifold
that went to the front of the transmission to connect to the sump.
Green circle is the plug where you can bleed it.

Thank you for the info. Thats what i thought, i have the plate there blocking it off. I will look for the parts or a complete parts rig

I have a complete 3 pt assemble off a JD backhoe. $500.. if interested let me know. it is self contained. has all its own cylinders and valve.
