All of a sudden my minor problems seem even more microscopic.

May you find peace, you already have grace. We'll all see you on the other side.

God Bless,

To think that you would even share this moment in your life with all of us is more honor than any of us has ever earned. You have all our prayers with you on your journey. There's got to be some "old iron" waiting for you on the other side. Bless you ,brother , as your post has been a Blessing to us. God is in charge.

Oh My!! This is one place where words do not do justice. Thank you for thinking of us and having been part of this community. Some day we will meet in a better place, and I do hope there are a few old tractors to play with. I pray that your passing will be without pain, and one of the special angels will gently guide your way.

Best Wishes!

Paul in MN

Bless you Dave. This is the second time I've had to say goodbye to somebody online this way. God speed.

I fell heartbroken and I don't even know you. I wish I knew words of comfort or wisdom but I don't . Keep the faith strong.

Having the courage to share this with all of us makes me believe you have found peace with God and the situation you are in.
Our prayers go out to you and your family.

We've never met or held a conversation, but you have touched my life today.

You are so blessed to have an opportunity to say goodbye, an opportunity to touch many of our lives, and yet another opportunity to make your final preparations for eternity.

Not all are not gifted these opportunities like you are.Thank you so much for stopping me in my tracks to consider the brevity of life again, and may God be your strength in your last hours.

hard to find the words to say, but what a wonderful opportunity you have to say a Good Bye.
Your door may be closing on earth & I pray opening in heaven. Tim is correct we will all be
joining you some day on our paths to the other side..... Be Strong

You just made me think of Walter Brennan and his mule ('Ol Rivers?). One of these days I'm gonna climb that mountain, walk up there among the clouds, where the cotton's high and the corn's a'growin-- (but we still want fields to plow) God's speed.

Hello DaveK(IN),

You have managed to simply state what this site as meant to you, and what this site is all about! Thanks for sharing your story-life with us God's speed..............

Guido.

God bless you Dave! Thank you for taking the time to say goodbye. I'm expecting my role in Heaven to be running an H Farmall with a sickle mower in a giant clean field of thick blue stem prairie grass. Plenty of heat and a light breeze day after day. God has a great place for you. Enjoy...

Every person and every contact with life on this planet benefited from your existence and contributions. We are all but a small set of relationships to one another. We treasure the opportunity to be a part of your connection with the world. We take from you the responsibility to keep those things you share sacred. Jim

Your kind and courageous words really show how this site has brought us together in spite of our differences.Although I never knew you, everyone on this site has become like a friend to me. Godspeed to you, you have been an inspiration to many. Ben.

May you face what lies ahead with the courage you've shown here. Godspeed to you and your loved ones.

Dave, I'm not a religious person, but You made a bold statement here with knowledge that your days are limited. It sounds like you have made peace with yourself, comfortable with your life's accomplishments. and ready to enter the hear-after. Rest In Peace, my friend

Amazing. Glad to hear you have made peace with your life. Godspeed, Im betting there is a C for you to drive on the other end of the gates. Best wishes and condolences to your family.

Jim

Dave,

I'm stunned. May you always stand or sit next to God, and one day may I be lucky and blessed enough to join you and some very close family and friends that I love and miss dearly. God bless.

Mark

Words don't ever do enough to express our sense of loss. Heartened to hear you are with your family. My condolences to them.

With all of the great tractors that have given their all and been scraped you will be in good company. There is always a peace in doing field work and I am sure that old iron will be eager to help you. With both of my folks gone and being 66 years old even I have started to think about my time winding down. You are in good company with your friends and you're maker. Stand tall, you have put up a good fight. Jeffcat

I can not say anything that has not already been said. You are in our thoughts and prayers. We all are going to make that trip someday, you will be in good company.

So sorry to hear that. Hope the rest of your days are peaceful and it goes easy on your family. By now you've had the chance to say the goodbyes that some people don't get to, but it doesn't make it any easier. We lost my father in law this fall to cancer too.

Hi DaveK, may God Bless you! You won't miss us, there's lots of ytr's on the other side. Ed Will Oliver BC

Must take a strong man to type that out, I hope your remaining time is painless and peaceful.

Hoping your final days are peaceful on this earth.

God bless you and your family

Vito

My prayer for you; Dear Lord, Please make Dave's last days on earth as comfortable and pain free as possible. I pray for his family and close friends. I pray that you will welcome him with open arms. In Jesus name, Amen

Save your fork!! At church meals the ladies would always tell everyone to save your fork. Then you knew that the best was yet to come. God Bless you, Chris

Thank you Dave for sending a farewell message to all of us. Our thoughts and prayers will be with you in the coming days.
While the passing of anyone is a sad event, in your case be thankful you have had time to prepare. I appreciate you have taken the time to bid us a farewell. Many leave us in an accident which are the most shocking for the friends and families. In your case, you, your family and friend have had the opportunity to prepare. I pray that you will leave us in very little pain and sorrow. Your spirit is headed for a better place where you will be welcome to share all of the great times you spent here on earth.
I hope we all will be with you one day so we can share more stories of our lives as we lived it here on the farm.

Good bye for now and thank you for sharing your parting words with all of us. May God be with you Dave..
Dick

I wish you and your family all the best as you face this very difficult time. I can't imagine being in your shoes. Please take this opportunity to make sure you are prepared for something far greater than this life. John 3:16.

Thanks for posting this and I like everyone else am very sorry to hear this. May GOD bless you and your family! I pray that you no longer have to suffer. -Donald

Davek in,

I will have to speak from my own heart, please accept Christ, God's sent Son. You will be forever blessed.

I am the most unable to properly give that message, I hope my thoughts find you comfortable, pain free, and blessed.

D.

Your post made me tear up, and I am not a soft person. I feel that strongly about the grace of God, Son, and Holy Spirit.

Dave, remember some of you posts and great pictures of you, your barn and three point jib.
I hope you have found peace and you will not be forgotten.

I think everyone here is humbled that you would reach out to us at this time. May you find the peace you seek. God bless you on your journey.

My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family during this difficult time. As so many have already mentioned, your faith is of greatest value. We all have come into this world with nothing, and all anyone of us can take with when we leave is our trust and faith in God.

Wow Dave--All I can think about right now is hymn 660 in the old Lutheran Hymnal I grew up with---I'M BUT A STRANGER HERE----Heaven is my home. GOD BE WITH YOU----Tee

May the Lord be with you Dave. Thanks for being on the forum; I'm a better person because of guys like you.
Jim B

I am trusting in the Lord that you have indeed repented of your sin and that you trust in Christ as your savior, and that we will indeed be together in the Lord's Glory.

WOW Dave, I could not imagine being in your shoes. May your final hours be peaceful, quiet, and pain free. You have many friends here. "WE ALL THANK YOU"

Don't know what to say or how to say it.

May God bless and comfort you and yours as you make this final journey.

We come together on this site with a common interest and often a common past, may we have a common future, see you other side and godspeed.

Dave I am sorry I did not know you and wish I did. I am deeply touched by your post. God bless you and your family Dave.

There is a time for everything, and a season for every activity under the heavens. A time to be born and a time to die, A time to plant and a time to up root. Ecclesiastes 3.

Yes, having the opportunity to say goodbye is so great for family and friends and for us who don't even know Dave personally. It is evident by the amount of replies to his post. Now Dave in his final days can be with family and friends to see him on his way. He can also read from us all who care about him and for what he about to witness.
I read in this forum too often of farming accidents where life is lost. How sad this is if the person had to suffer while waiting for their last breath. Sad that no one could be there with them in the final moments. Their suffering is over but think of the family and friends who have to suffer with ideas of, had he or she only ***, had I been there I could have ***. I guess I'm lucky that I've never had to go through this with a family member or friend,, yet.. Therefore I can't imagine how a feeling like this must be and hope I never do.
Being able to give a final farewell and have family and friends with you is something we can all wish for.
Leaving is a sad event but none of us would want to see any further suffering.
In your final days know that you have a full page of friends here who's thoughts are with you.
A friend you don't know,
Dick

We are all steeped in the fellowship of tractors but your post is like a driven nail. You are on the way out - and it's still tractors. God bless you and your C.

As Dick said below, you have been given a special blessing by God, even in the midst of your suffering, apprehension and sorrow. He has allowed you the opportunity to say goodbye to those you love, to tell them what they have meant to you in your life, and to give them the benefit of your wisdom and direction as they face life without you. More importantly, He has given you the opportunity to establish or strengthen your relationship with Him and to give you the blessed assurance of your place in His presence through eternity. Use it well.

My family and I were touched and saddened by your situation . You are the bravest man I wish I knew. You and your family will be included in my nightly devotion. GOD Speed.

Godspeed, my good man. It's a sign of your courage and faith and friendship that you've reached out to tell us this. I don't know if I could do it. My heart goes out to your family and close friends. May God be with them and welcome you with open arms. No more pain and suffering, eternal peace shall be yours.

You have a great depth of humaniy to post here during your last days to thank people you have never met. We all should aspire To be similar.

Continue on Dave, your fork in the road is just a part of the path... Everything and everyone will meet up once again. God bless.

This is a Poem by Barbara Weber.

He was bound to the land from the day of his birth
His roots anchored deep in the fertile earth
Nurtured, sustained, by the soil he grew
And his life, like his furrows, ran straight and true.
In faith, each spring, he planted the seeds
In hope, to reap his family?s needs
With patience, he waited for the harvest to come
To gather the fruits of his labor home.
Ever turning seasons, the years sped past
Til the final harvest came at last
Then claimed anew by beloved sod
He was gathered home to be with God

Sir I thank you for having the courage and peace to Honor us with your last post.

May you leave us in peace and without pain, and may our Great Creator welcome you with open arms.....

God Bless you and your family. All of us here are like family and we all feel the pain when someone moves on. We wish you the best until we all meet again and get to sit around later on and BS about tractors and the many other wonders of life.

May the Peace of the Lord be with you. Paul in 2 Timothy said ( I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith.) You and your family will be in my prayers.

Thank you for being so open and sharing this stage of your life. I don't know you, but we share this planet thus we are all connected. Hope you had a great life and have lots of support at this time.

I can tell you and you can be SURE of this....

My Mother was a Wonderful ball of Energy and she was taken from us with NO warning...

I CAN assure you that She WILL be there to Welcome you...!!

I KNOW she will be there to guide myself in..( assuming I make it that direction!!)...

Look toward the LIGHT and Confirm your Total Faith in Jesus..
God Bless..we will be along shortly also...

I hope when my time comes that I'm able to face it with the class & grace & dignity that you are. My thoughts are with you & yours.

Good bye my friend, My prayer for you is that you know where the next stop will be. Don't hope, don't wish, Know your Savior Jesus Christ. gobble

What a beautiful good bye you have sent us all. At a very difficult time you brought us all together in this post as you reach the end of your time here. You are a class act all the way my friend. I look forward to seeing you on the other side. Your courage is humbling to us all. I hope I find your grace , courage and compassion when my time comes. Your family should be proud of you also. We all wish you the very best. Your spirit lives on here too as we will always remember you and your posts.

Dave,

I hope that in these last few days and the hereafter you and your family find comfort. Takes a heck of a lot of courage to go through everything you have. You've been an asset to so many on this site. I've been posting since 1998 when I was 12 years old, and learned from a lot of people on this site. It's always tough on all of us when one of our family departs - know that you will be missed forever.

May God put you through the process at the gate in speedy fashion so that you can get back to work wrenching... Prayers for you and your family my friend.

I'm very sad to see this post. I hope your days are pain free and full of good memories. Remember though, the best is yet to come. There will be a time when we will all be able to meet have a good time. There will be no pain or sorrow just great joy. Go in peace.

Bless You. Having sat with my Father in-law in his last hours may your journey be as easy as his was.

My prayers are with you and your family. I've never seen so many replies to one post in the whole time I've been a part of this forum, which is a testimony to the fellowship we have in a common love for our tractors. I thank you for the courage it took to let us know about a time in your life that is the biggest change in life that all of us will go through. I'll echo what dennis min said, only a little different, know God, know peace-no God, no peace. Cliche, but truth.

Dear Sir,

I don't know you other than you are part of this wonderful group of like-minded people. Farmers and proud country folk. One heck of a group. I lost my father to stomach cancer on January 2nd. I understand your goodbye, Dad and I were able to say goodbye. So many times people don't get to say goodbye to their friends and loved ones. Yours is a gift to all of us here. Thank you and may you find peace.

Matt
