Some pictures of tractors in the one shed.

I finished the little stuff on the JD 4440 that I am going to sell. ( Ad in YT photo ads). I am storing some tractors in a feed lot a neighbor is not using this winter. Actually it has been empty for several years now. My sheds are full.

Pic 1) JD 4450 this is the one I just bought. It seems like a real nice tractor.
Pic 2) JD 4440 that I bought a few years ago. It actually has low hours on it and has not done much real work. They put combine tires on it, 23.1x 30 tires. Nice big fat tires. LOL
Pic 3) JD 4040, This is one of those tractor I will not sell. I am the second owner and it only has around 4500 hours. Flat top fenders with no roll bar is not the most common one to have.
Pic 4) The JD 4440 that is for sale. All ready for a new owner.

I really should sell a few more as the sheds are full. LOL I guess the kids will have a better auction than they think. LOL

That open 4040 looks identical to what mine looked like when I bought it new. Only difference is,mine didn't have the air cleaner above the hood. I bought a cab from Worthington later and had the dealer put it on. I gave $22,900 for that tractor in February 1981. A SoundGuard Body at the time would have added $6500 to it.
The old guy who owns the fertilizer plant has two open 4040s like that that they use around the yard.

I like the 4040 open station. Down here in Florida a cab tractor better have a real good AC or you're going to be miserable working it in the summer

I put the cab on mine because of the dust from the round baler. It just got to be too much for me.

It's nice to have a bigger, open tractor(something more than a 40 HP one!) around from time to time. I guess that's part of the reason I keep the 4020.

With all the electronics on them now I don't think an open tractor would be a good idea. Have seen 6xxx series Deere in open station with dash problems in the late 90's when they weren't that old.

A cab tractor for stationary work (blower, generator, auger) is just plain unhandy.

Former employer never could figure out why I put the 4020 on the auger if he didn't specify the 4430 when he said to hook it up.

Also, you can see the end of the auger over the bin.
