OT curiousity

For you that don't care about the NFL, I apologize ahead of time. What little dab of it I do watch I've made it a habit not to tune in till after kickoff so I don't have to witness the disrespect for our flag that has been so prevalent in the league this year. Today however I did have the Packers-Giants contest tuned in before kickoff, after all that pregame nonsense, they went right straight to kickoff, no anthem, no music no anything. This is the second time I've seen this. My question: do they not even do the anthem anymore or do they not broadcast it anymore? Thanks, DP

I didn't watch the game, but suspect the anthem was done.

It was just more profitable to the network to use that time to cram in a few more insultingly stupid commercials!

Not watching at all. Was it a "hell Mary" or "Hail Mary"? I suppose it would depend on who one roots for.

Not just games, but all of TV is just a string of commercials. For awhile it seemed that of the three around here that broadcast NFL games ABC was the least intrusive. The last Cowboys game proved that notion wrong.....why bother following the game.....why not just wall to wall commercials???????? Back when satellite tv came out and I bought in I had this rediculous notion that paying meant no ads.......wrong.

For the Raiders vs. Texans game they showed the anthem, sung rather simply by Clay Walker. He may not have the greatest voice, but he sang it without all the flourishes that put the emphasis on the singer and not on the song. And he took off his hat while singing the anthem.
