Hi, It was -16C at 6:00am and now it's -15C. No wind
1 more cold day then up to +temps with snow then return to cold temps Ed Will Oliver BC

10 degrees in Tennessee when I got up at 6:00 AM this morning. I didn't start my chores until 9:00 AM. Just got back into the house and the temperature outside is all the way up to 22 degrees.

Come on Monday, Supposed to get back to normal next week.

Tom in TN

I just looked up the Barrow Alaska temp; +28 degrees! shouldn't they be -40 this time of the year? Then I looked up Mirnyy, Ru Sovetskaya ulitsa, which is in the Siberia region; -37 degrees. If we had sustained low temps like that here in Iowa we would have frozen pipes galore.

I left there back in 1980 when I joined the Air Force. Still have family around there. My youngest brother was the service manager at Heritage Equipment in Baldwin before he moved to Florida about 4 years ago. I attended school at Vinland, Baldwin, and graduated from Desoto.

Gary, it was 19 here south of Austin and 16 over in Fredericksburg. Good news, no moisture here. Friends in Amarillo sent pics of snow. Cold enough for me.

Here in Sask. I saw -30F first thing this morning . It warmed up to 0 by mid day. Was sunny clear and quiet so I took a short flight for some video and pictures of the yard. Didn't take long for my fingers to freeze up and I had to get back in the house to thaw out.

I've been through the Panhandle when it was a near blizzard. I was used to driving in blizzards in ND so it didn't bother me.

The front came through and is moving on. Still windy and cold.
Woke up to 28* this morning.
Last time it was this cold was in January 2011.

-26 F this morning in Alamosa Colorado. Got up into the single digits this afternoon before dropping. Pushed snow in the morning with the Ford 850. Started fine (still 6V), but it was 5 degrees in the garage.

Small world. I grew up at Vinland. Folk's place was across the road south of the school. I must be about 15 years older than you but my brother, Stan Lawson, would be about your age and must have gone to grade school about the same time you did. What's your last name? What do you do in Muleshoe?

Was 15F this morning in East Texas which is very cold for this area of Texas. Last time it was this cold was in 2011 when it got down to 10F and froze up a lot of pipes in houses and barns not properly insulated. Will be playing golf on Tues and Thurs with temps in the low 70s...just part of the crazy weather we can get here in East Texas.

Your Dad was Murry Lawson, he drove the school bus. My last name is Johnson we lived about 4 miles from Vinland over by what is now called Quantrill Acres, that place has a lake on it now. I remember Stan, and didn't you have a sister as well? You are about the same age age older brother Leland. I retired from the Air Force and am now a maintenance director for a retirement community in Friona, TX.

Exactly right. I remember your family. I think your brother Jimmy was in my class. I visited with him in Baldwin a few years ago but haven't run into him since. Sounds like you've had a solid career. Good to visit. Best of luck. Dennis Lawson

Jim lives at Pamona these days. Still driving a truck and pulling tractors. He has a souped up International W9 he pulls. I am collecting garden tractors, if you ask my wife I have about 5 to many lol. Good to visit with you too. I still go by Vinland when I get back that way. Have to check out the old stopping grounds. Keep in touch. I am usually on here at least once a day.

Heck my pond had a sheet of ice on it yesterday and this morning. Wind kicked around to the South starting our warm up and this afternoon it
started warming up. So, is it the wave action due to the long NS area that makes it slow to glaze over?
