Ford 4000 blowby

Just bought a late 70s ford 4000 diesel. I bought the tractor from an older gentlemen who piddles with a few old tractors. I was told the tractor didn't have any blowby and I didn't notice it when I looked at it. However I have since got the tractor home and ran it a little bit. I noticed a small amount of steam coming out of the vent tube. I checked the oil and have ran it probably 2-3 hours and no oil has been used. The amount coming out doesn't change when the tractor is under a strain or at idle just a steady amount coming out. I won't be doing any serious work with it just bush hogging and taking hay. Should I just let it be or is this something I should fix.

This time of the year if a tractor has been setting there can be condensation in the motor that will make some more blow by. I would try to do some thing that would make it Pull for a period. That will make it clean out any condensation. Also you could have a piston ring stuck just from being piddle around.

I wouldn't get too excited about it. Those engines just make a fair amount of blow-by... and having the tube discharge behind the fan tends
to blow it around a lot more. If it's just a little haze that you notice and the engine isn't burning oil then it's likely normal. When
there's a real problem it will choke you off the seat...

My Ford 6610 has more blow by than the 4020, I would think it is normal, warm it up real good may need condensation boiled out.
