Just wondering if any of you guys have ever shipped a single motorcycle from Canada to the UK? If you have who did you use and was it successful. I want to ship back an old BSA 441

I would find a company that does that. I believe there is paper work involved and they might have a spot in a container.

i shipped a norton in early 70s' from washington state to maine. i took the bike to local honda dealer and he broke it down, and used a crate that one of his new bikes came in. he took care of making the arrangments with the shipper. if i remember right he charged me $300. the bike arrived in maine in the same condition as when dealer put it in the crate. still wish i would have been able to ride that bike cross country. good luck

This won't help you, but it reminded me of when I did a tour in the Far East in the Marine Corps. We could ship one vehicle back to the States on our orders, but the vehicle had to be used.

So, guys would buy a new motorcycle in the factory crate, open the crate enough to chuck an electric drill onto the speedometer cable, run a few hundred miles on the odometer, and seal up the crate again.

Yes! I have always driven Triumphs, and the one I drove for 25 years (1972 Daytona) got so that when you would dim the headlights sometimes they would go out completely! I had switched it to a sealed beam and I just wired up the low beam all the time.

Talk to the shipper before buying wood or asking Honda dealer for crates etc. I shipped a Sportster to Denmark and they just put it on a shelf in the container , no crate required.
