Concrete stoop cracked and leaking

The stoop at front of the house is concrete and there is a cold cellar underneath. The concrete platform is now cracked and water is leaking into the cold room below. I want to seal the crack or place a waterproof coating on the platform, but what do I use to keep it looking attractive?
Thanks

Sika Brand Self leveling sealer is top notch pro material. Tape the underside to keep it in the crackif the crack is wide. Jim

the cracks should be saw cut out--trapezoidal with a patching mortar--then use a sealer of your choice to waterproof it all

There is/was a product called XYPEX (had to go out to the shop to find it) that would solve your leaking problem. It is used for leaking foundation walls and can be applied even if water is running through the crack - that's why I have it and it works. If you are concerned about appearance, it can be troweled like concrete for a smooth finish. HTH

I'll second that Jim. Sika is good stuff. Maybe use a bonding agent? The Sika supplier should be able to steer in the right direction.

First things first. You have to stop the leak. Replace the platform? Replace the whole unit? If not, fill the crack with hydraulic cement that will expand and fill the gap. Once you've stopped the leak, then cover it with something protective that looks nicer.

Good luck.

Unless the reason for the crack is removed the various sealers may just be a band aid. If the crack is still moving from settling or some other reason I suspect it will continue to leak. I will throw my vote in for Sika products, they work great in my experience.

My basement leaked for years, until I found DAP 3.0 greatest thing( well one of) I have ever seen for this use good for anything like what you describe

First thing is to get the area graded so water won't flow towards the step. And if the step is set too low to do this, then it may be necessary to demolish it, regrade the area and replace the step. If it's a prefab step, you may be able to jack it up and fill underneath it.

I've used the Sika self-leveling concrete sealer with good results. However, you must first plug the crack with "backer rod", which is a foam rod you stuff into the crack. The self-leveling sealer is so thin it will drain right through a hole of any size. You'll find large-diameter backer rod next to the concrete sealer in most stores; smaller rod will be found with weatherstrip products.
