Cheater Pipe

I don't use a pipe much anymore, but a ball bat. I buy second-hand aluminum bats, cut about 3/4" off the big end, clean out the foam, and put a stainless clamp around the opening, to keep it from splitting out. They are lighter, a better grip, and will fit over many size handles. Your mileage may vary.

Now that is an interesting way of doing it. I haven't used a cheater in a long time but that might get added to the tool rack.

I have a few pieces of EMT, maybe 12 to 16" long, that I keep in the toolbox, a couple have been driven onto a ratchet or breaker bar handle and now fit on and off nicely. These are good enough for most things, still use a pipe once in a great while though. The EMT is light, cheap, handy, and strong enough for most , and if I do bend it I can get the pipe

I have an aluminum cheater pipe! Where I retired from we used 1 1/2 inch aluminum pipe for handrails, so there were always shorter pieces available. It fits nicely on an 18 inch pipe wrench! Always carried 1/2, 1, and 1 1/2 inch cheater pipes, the smaller ones were for allen wrenches. Some guys would pound on their allen wrenches but then the long end gets all beat up and you cant get it in the bolt head.

Of course when the tool with the cheater on it breaks you all expect it to be replaced under warranty, right?
