What is this?? Saw this picture at a historic restaurant my wife and I went to over the weekend...I've never seen anything quite like it. Was it originally steam powered, then received a gas engine repower?

I googled Buffalo Springfield and found a pic of one essentially just like it. Must have been their all fuel model of the time.

Buffalo Springfield made what appears to be a wide variety of models, some of which appear to be repowered, or adapted power. Fun
to look at. The Group Buffalo Springfield got its Name when the band passed a Roller sitting next to the highway as they sought out
a name! Jim
Some like it

some dont

There is one in the brush a few miles
from here that was steam and has a 6
cylinder GM engine mounted on top for
repower.

Jim, did you notice the hitch ball on the rear hub of that one in the first video? Wonder what that was for,,,,,,,,,gm

I'm guessing that was a posi-traction pin similar to the round ear that Case put on the early models. The ear on the axle lined up with a hole in the hub to put both drivers in motion.

It looks like it was never steam powered. Originally it probably had a large slow turning gas engine that was replaced by the four cylinder power unit.

They may be pulled to other locations much faster than they can go under their own power. (see tow loop on the front) I would not like to be the tow operator on a down hill run!! Jim
