Changing A 801 Ford Tractor To 12 Volt alternator Conversion. It don't Have a hole for An Amp meter. Can I just put an idiot Light Instead of An amp meter? Also how can I wire It That way? I know how to wire Thru An Amp Meter, But Stumped On The Idiot Light Wiring. The holes In The Dash Have ,oil Pressure Gauge & Gas Gauge & temp. gauge. No More holes Left. Thanks for any Help.

If you don't have a hole for an amp meter you should already have an idiot light. Get 3 wire Delco alternator, loop #2 edge pin to out put stud and connect idiot light to #1 edge pin.

Very simple to wire up an idiot light if you use a Delco 10SI alternator like the one for a 1980 Chev pickup no AC no power any thing. Cost around $45 at O'Reilly's plus a $10 core if you do not have one. You run the charge wire off the big stud to the battery side of the solenoid and the #2 wire on the 2 wire plug to the big charge stud. Then the #1 wire you install the idiot light in. The light does 2 things. Tell you it is charging and also makes it so you can shut the engine back off
