Chores all done!!!

Well everything seems to have stood the cold OK. None of the waterers froze up and all the livestock is doing fine. I did shovel snow around the west side of the house foundation. That really helps keep the wind from blowing through any small cracks, holes in the rock foundation.

I can remember my Great grand Mother taking a spray bottle of warm water and spraying around her windows to seal them when it got cold. It worked pretty good. She would spray them on the outside as soon as it started staying below freezing. This was the old aluminum storm windows.
 
Don't know about your place, but it was a lot easier here than what the weatherman said. Like you, we spent yesterday doing a lot of extra bedding, making sure waters were working, etc. And it was snowing pretty good most (all!) of the day.

Yes it was cold this morning, but only down to zero or so, and the wind was minimal. Actually, it was a very pleasant day compared to early last week. Only bad part was having to replow all the drives (6 farmsteads) that we did yesterday!!
 
I will agree that it was not the world ending event like the weather guessers had predicted. The snow fall last night right at dark was heavy and fast but it quit with only maybe an 1-2 inches. The wind did not blow the snow around like it normally would. So we did clean out the drives again but it mostly was just a few small drifts. We where at -15-20 here this morning but it really did not feel that bad. It is -9 right now and the wind is still.
 
we didn't get the snow weather guesser called either. did get a bunch of wind and cold we had some snow drifts to move.
tall kid and i put a bunch of hay out for cows friday so when weather was at it's worse we could stay in.
 
Ratings were down so they started naming snow storms. Next will be tornadoes and thunderstorms.

If you're not gonna die in this one, you're not gonna tune in to see how bad you're really getting it.
