Old truck for tractor hauler - pics

Real straight old truck for it,s age. Would burn a little gas that is for sure. Either a v 478 or 549 , good thing is it has power steering. Really never saw a rollback bed exactly like that one but seems to work. Wish it was closer to me.

Cab Overs have an inherent problem--unless the front end is really heavy it is easy to overload the truck. That one does not appear to have a heavy front end such as most garbage trucks have. Cab overs advantage is that they take less space in the barn/garage and they usually turn short. But the bed is so close to the front wheels there is very little leverage which increases the load on the front wheels--they, therefore, need to be a much bigger size along with the axle and kingpins.

I had one like it and wish now I would have kept it. It had the RD-450 engine with 8 speed road ranger transmission with air clutch and air brakes. The truck had been tripled framed from front to back.It was a good truck and drove great. The only draw back is that 6o mph was top speed.

that would be handy to have, you can haul your tractor on it, or make some sides and use it for a light duty dump truck, i remember when every time you looked up you saw either one of these, or a 3000 series white, now you almost never see either
