Got to looking at my pay stub this week.

Between my old job with the BTO,and the job I started the end of February, I've made the same money as I did each of the last 2 years at the BTO.

According to my W2s from the last 2 years.

Where things are not adding up, is I am paying another $500 a month between rent and medical bills, MORE than I was while working for the BTO.

AND I've taken 3 weeks off work between the trip to Vegas to play in the APA pool tournament, and going back to Pennsylvania to visit family.

Plus I have more cash on hand than I have had at any point in the last two years.

I can't verify my prior years W2s because the few pay stubs I received, had no year-to-date on them.

I think the BTO should have at least provided me some Vaseline while I was there.

If you are saying that you feel you had less take home pay at the former job then that would have been reflected in your tax refunds. Withholdings for SS/Medi are going to be a flat 7.65% but federal/state taxes can vary. Don't know what other things might have been deducted, but there could be others. You might want to run some numbers and make sure you have enough paid in to cover taxes for 2016. Just a heads up, unless I am not understanding you...Dave (sitting at my desk with the CPA hat on today)

Medical insurance could be a big part of that too. If you moved to a large company insurance could easily be that much less. I looked at moving this summer and couldn't because of the cost of medial insurance.

I filled the truck up with gas Monday for $52.00, last year is was $100.00 and I could not fill it.

The one W2 from 2014 (I got a w2 from each partner, they alternated weeks paying me) had more than an extra $4000 tacked on. Corrected amount, plus 27%, minus $3.25.

That showed my wages equalled the salary they were paying the new guy. And I was probably supposed to forget about that by the time I got the corrected w2.

I think they somehow did some underhanded math at some point.

Which would not surprise me. When they hired a new guy in 15, I gave him a couple roasts and pounds of hamburger. The BTO asked him if I had given him some beef, if I had, he wasn't going to give me my 1/4 that year if I was giving it away.

That tells me they even went through his freezer to see my name on the label on what I gave him. Why else would he have asked?

They won't even talk to me. Didn't like being told I was no longer putting my own butt on the line so they could save a couple thousand in needed truck repairs.

That they ended up paying for anyhow.
