Old tractor rear tires

A lot depends on how bad they are. I have used them for sand boxes. Or raised beds for flowers or garden stuff. Also used them along area where high water and washing is a problem by stacking them down then filling them with rock and dirt etc. Or along a creek bed filled with dirt and then a tree planted in them so as to stop erosion

Salvage yard takes tires here for free. If they are still on the rim they don't pay for the steel. I took 180 tires last summer, tractor truck and car tires. No charge.

I bought a property that had 8 old tractor tires on it. I put an ad on craigslist and everyone wanted them. The first guy took all of them. He said he was going to bury them upright so the top half was sticking out of the ground for his kids to climb on.

I wanted to plant a pair on each side of our driveway leaving about 2/3 sticking up - for a landmark that first time visitors could identify with.

The head of the beautification department vetoed that suggestion.

If they're 28 inch, bolt a blue barrel into it, cut a big hole in one side, and feed salt and/or mineral in it. Cheapest feeder I have ever had and the bulls don't tear them up.....

they're very easy to cut in half to make two doughnut shaped flower beds. No steel in them & a butcher knife will cut them in a couple of minutes.

I'll argue with you. I did cut up a 10x38 6 ply. My sawzall is the only thing that worked.

The tire beads have a LOT of hard, steel wire. Impossible to cut with anything but a sawzall.
