TO 20 electric wiring

A guy I know had some kids visiting at his place and one, for whatever reason, cut all the wiring off his TO 20, all of it. It's a 6 volt positive ground with lights and generator system. I found a fair schematic for the wiring but some wires in the picture go into the harness and reappear w/o anything designating which one is which, as in 2 go in and 2 come out but which is which?

Since his battery is bad he asked me about changing it to 12 volt negative ground system and how expensive would that be. If that's feasible does anyone here have a schematic I can "borrow" and a little narrative to go along with it so I can help him out? Thanks, gm

Two answers: Use a ohm meter from end to end on the wires if they conduct they are the same wire if not it is the other one.
The link provided is clear and contains diagrams for an M farmall. The lower one from me is pretty generic, and applies well to your situation. Make sure the coil to points wire is attached to the coil on the negative terminal (coil to points matches battery ground). Reverse the amp meter so it reads correctly and replace bulbs. The starter will be Ok. Jim

If I was in your shoes, I'd have friend buy complete wiring harness, with 12v conversion harness, from this site, little under 200 bucks, but quik, easy & it has instructions---
