Custom made LP fuel level gauges for tractors

Has anyone had one made and where or who did you call? Maybe also have an sender on the level gauge to run a gauge on the dash? thanks chris

That's exactly what I thought. The mechanical guages that have been in use for over 50 years are more reliable than the one on you truck and last forever.

Would be kind of cool in place of a roto-gauge. A lot of the LP tractors, the gauge, is not within sight from the seat like a 930 Case or a Moline G

You need the whole gauge or just the dial? A propane supplier would be a place to start. Unless you have a shop near by the does motor fuel conversions. Another place may be a RV Parts supply.

My 3010 lp has a fuel gage in the dash. It has a magnetic sender inside the tank from what I have read in the service book. It works as I had a full tank now have 3/4.

I have had quite a few propane and dual fuel vehicles.
If your tank has the base on it for a mechanical gauge you can install an electrical sending unit on the base that will work with a conventional dash gauge.
Accuracy varies but it seems most other fuel gauges do as well.

Because that way when the tractors are actually in use you don't have to stop and lean around to look at the gauge every hour to make sure you don't run out. Some of my LP tractors have gauges visible from the seat, but it sure would be handy if they all did. I agree the old roto gauges were accurate, but unhandy when you're trying to get work done and not just play. BT

I didn't know this would be such a bad thing to ask. I have a MM tractor that does have the float level gauge, but also bought a new dash cluster that has a fuel gauge(for a gas tractor) and thought maybe I could hook that up also since most people don't understand the sight glass gauge. And might have other people operating this tractor in the future. chris

(quoted from post at 23:09:33 12/07/16) So Determined, where do you find your sending units at or brand name? thanks chris

If you do a search for (fuel gauge sender propane tank)
You will find various makers of the part you are after.

Different brands have different mounting patterns so you will have to match up what you have.

Next you will have to choose one that will work with the dash gauge you have.
Common ones are 0-30 ohm and 0-90 ohm.
