Army vs. Navy Game Saturday

(quoted from post at 14:39:47 12/06/16) The Donald will be there. Bet nobody drops a knee during the National Anthem at that game. LOL

None of the players. Cadets are considered military members and are subject to the UCMJ. Failing to stand at attention and render honors is an offence.

I have not missed that game in 40 years, no matter where in the world I was, I have managed to watch it. It is the purest rivalry in sports. GO

oldtanker,

In so few words, if I was the owner/boss that paid the players, well they'd better be respectful, hand on heart, uncapped, and politely silent at attention.

Best story ever that I'd experienced at a nascar event, some dimwit refused to remove his cap for the anthem, he was duly warned, he responded that there were few ways in this world that could make him do so. He was dragged from the bleachers, and security took him away.

Mind you that was in Virginia, and there's a lot of military there.

Thing that's scary here guys is stepping on the 1st amendment. Do that to one and the others can easily go down too. A service member gives up certain rights when they join so the civilian population can refuse to honor the anthem or burn the flag.

Infringe on that right and what's next? The 2nd, 4th or 5th amendments?

Rick

I always have to laugh when I think of one episode of the old "Magnum P.I." TV show.

Tom Selleck and John Hellerman were discussing military operations. Selleck said of one operation, "Our mission was to move a piece of equipment across an open area of level terrain against equal opposing forces." He threw in a few other details.

Hellerman identified it as a certain operation in Viet Nam. Selleck said, "Nah. 1976 Army-Navy football game".
