Admittedly, we keep the house plenty warm in the
winter. Warm enough to hatch a dozen eggs in the
living room, I'm sure. The wife says wood is "free"
(at least to her) so why not keep the downstairs
around 80. Thankfully it's much cooler upstairs or I
would never sleep.
Why is it that the first time it's below 30 degrees
there are dozens of flies in the upstairs windows
buzzing around? It's like something out of a movie.
Big old honkers, too. There's a never ending supply
upstairs until spring. Why do old houses do that?
