Fits DT414 piston rings to a D414?

I am wondering if it is possible to set piston rings for a IH DT414 engine in a IH D414 engine? I know it is some diffrent design but will it be a problem?

Perfect circle used to make customs rings for most anything for 25.00 set up plus cost of the rings. I do believe they still do. May not be called perfect circle now but still in business.

What are you trying to accomplish? They make the correct rings for the D414 piston. You might be able to machine the piston to use DT414 rings, but I doubt it and for what purpose, according to the parts listing the D414 uses a wider 2nd ring than the DT414.

I don't have a D and a DT piston handy to look at, but I'll bet money the top rind and oil ring are the same with the 2nd ring different. A lot of turbo/non-turbo engines one the same family are like that. Turbo engine usually has two keystone rings, some might have a square 2nd ring depending on application and NA engines sometimes have a keystone top with a square 2nd ring or are all square.

If you are looking for square rings Total Seal will most likely be able to put something together for you.
