Extended forecast looks like we will be freezing the ground up here in So. Mn. mid next week. So those of you with crop still out there--be ready!

Let's hope she works her way to MI. We'll need it to finish soys. Gave up on the remainder of them for now, working on corn currently. Also have a lot of wood to get out of a field, had a hard time with it last weekend.

I remember back in the mid '70,s we had to wait/hope for a January thaw to get half our soys. 2nd week of Jan it was 60 degrees for 2 - 3 days and thawed all the snow down to mud and then froze up tight. Didn't lose any and got them all combined and in mean time price went up $ 2.00 a bushel ! So, yea, keep the faith!

I remember one year it wasnt froze through the day, just over night, so my dad got up at 3AM picked the wagons full, then did the milking, unloaded the loads and picked and unloaded until noon. By then it was getting to greasy out to pull a picker and wagon. He took a nap until milking time, did the milking and chores and then went to bed. Got up at 3AM the next day and started all over.
