I an thinking about getting a 40+/- hp tractor with cab and loader to plow snow. I am thinking about a L 3940 without pollution. There is a L 4060 close at a good price. Is there any place that can delete this? The premium for the pre 2011 units is about what you can buy new for.

Frank no place that I know of in US without giving up that six year warranty you are getting. On the larger tractors like this one the emissions has really not been any problem. On some of the smaller B series and big lawn mowers where they do no run hard, some minor problems. I would not hesitate to buy the newer tractor for the same price. Very few of the prior models left out there.

Not familiar with the model you mention. My two tractors do not use DEF fluid, they have the reburn filter system. The smaller tractor in pictured in the post below , I will have had for two years next month, and it now has 850 hours on it.Spends most of its time in the yard, moving bales ,silage or manure. Has given me no problems at all what so ever , so far. Needs to re-burn more often in the cooler month , because the tractor never has to run long enough or hard enough to bring it up to full operating temp. My bigger tractor 135 hp rarely ever does a re-burn , as it is used mostly in the field, and now has about 750 hours. Both of these tractors have preformed well for me , and done every thing I expected them to do.I understand the new Kubota tractors now come with a DEF fluid system . Bruce

There is Tier 4 and final Tier 4 on the new tractors. I would go with the final Tier 4 engine and don't worry about it. A very clean burning diesel engine.

We have the def on our new holland, unless your doing hard work with it it hardly takes any at all and it's not overly expensive.
