Rural King is having Harvest King motor oil 10w30, 5w30, 19w40, 5w20 and 30w oil on sale Thanksgiving. They have other oils on sale too Rotella,

I've used Rural King oil in my old tractors and lawn mowers for years. I change oil and filters 50-75 hrs, depending on when it turns dark.

Plan to do a little shopping before I go to Plainfield and have Thanksgiving at my boys.

I agree, I'd worry about saving $3 on some cheap oil and damaging a tractor engine. Probably best to buy the most expensive best oil you can, in the long run. Use the cheap oil in an oil can to lube nuts and bolts.

I've used rural king oils for years. May not be buying any today. Parking lot was full. So many people you couldn't walk down the isles.

Would someone post a link showing why Rural King oil is inferior to brand name oils.

Tkanks.

I would like to know that as well, That is the only oil I use any more and my Mechanic friend uses it all the time so if a person that has been making a living working on cars and uses it himself if it was bad don't think he would use it on his own vehicals.

I was taught that since there's sumthin like 5 refineries, when they're switching over from bottling mobile 1 to havoline they need to flush the lines. Rather than dump the cross formula contaminated stock, they bottle it and sell it to the off-brand resellers.

That means a bottle of 10w30 ruralking from 2 months ago will have a slightly different additive package than the bottle that is filled today and sold next week.

Just make sure the API rating meets or exceedes the requirements for the equipment you're putting it in.

Would someone post a link proving that motor oil costing $.99 per quart is not inferior to brand name oils....

What caught my eye was the $1.79 for the synthetic.

Not that I'm going anywhere near there for a few days.

Have a good Thanksgiving

And I will NOT buy it just for a name and to me that is all it is, just a name that has snockered people.

Well some people have a higher opinion of Harvest king $,99 oil. I went back this afternoon. They were completely sold out.

Geo-Tho not superized they are sold out, cheap oil is hard to come by many uses on a farm, but not in a engine. hydrolic oil on your coal bucket, grain truck dump and dump trailor. cutter bar on bean head and hay bind, chains and sprockets on combine and other equipment anytime you have metal to metal it needs oiled.neighbor cuts timber and saw mill, he will buy 10 cases of cheap oil, mix it with 10 cases of bar and chain oil have 20 cases of bar oil for half the money. lots of uses for cheap oil but not in my hundred thousand dollar combine engine not going to happin
