StaBil vs. Startron Fuel stabilizwer

Educate me (and others) about these two. A local lawn mower shop says Startron is the best....lasts longer.
I was the one that had the post about Seafoam. Thanks to all in advance..

Same with me, was using Stabil, local small engine shop said Startron was better. I haven't had any problem with either, but now use Startron. Usually a higher dose then the minimum as some engines I only run a few times a year all close together. Like chainsaws in the fall, leave blower in the fall, lawn mower in the summer, etc. When I bring a can of gas home from the gas station, the first thing I do is put in the Startron, then I know it's done and all the engines I have are taken care of as I gas up the various ones.

Use Av Gas. IMHO,way better than all those 'magic' additives.Av gas doesnt have any additives(or ethanol) to foul up. Never goes bad, higher octain that reg gas.My ATV,motor cycles, lawnmowers all start right up in spring, run better too.Sure it's expencive($5 something a gallon) but you dont use enough to matter.Buy it at your bulk fuel supplier.

The only time I ever had trouble with a engine was after I used Stabil, haven't used anything since and haven't had a trouble. I am pretty careful about only using ethanol-free premium in all my 2 strokes, and I try to run all my small engines (19 of them) a couple of times a year. If I notice any throttle hesitation I use some Seafoam and that takes care of that usually. I haven't had to take a carburetor apart in years.

I agree with using only premium and or av gas on those small engines I have great luck with draining tem and running them dry,,, stabil is good for a few months then it will go bad as well and if you add it to already "old" gas it goes south even quicker
cnt

I think that Startron is a better product, and works better.

I use non-ethanol fuel in all of my little engines, but stuff like my 4 wheeler I run startron in.

Get yourself a small container if starting to go bad, or already a little curdled regular fuel, and put a cap full of startron in it, will look / smell like it is fresh out of the pump the next day! Stabil won't do that.

I started using Stratton about 5 years ago after having to replace fuel lines and a carb. that got pitted from ethanol gas and now use it in all my farm ,garden, chainsaw and other power equipment all year around. It will keep fuel fresh longer than stabile ( up to 3 years).

I'am a marine mechanic by trade and we use Startron in our shop for all winterizes. We have non-ethanol fuel at our dock. Highly recommend both. I use starton year round at home.

I had trouble with Stabil, went to Ethanol Shield and it seems to work really well. Their "Mechanic-In-A-bottle" really works miracles on gummed up carbs...

I sell Startron for gas and diesel engines. I have never sold a a bottle to anyone that hasn't come back and bought a second one. We swear by the stuff. We work on a lot of older equipment that has been sitting a long time with bad gas in them. It really works great. No comparison to anything else I have found.

I have never used Sta-Bil or Startron. Never had any problems either. Whatever gas is in the tank of the lawnmower or garden tiller at the end of the season just stays right there. Both units start right up the next spring and run just fine. Also, I use nothing BUT E-10.

I bought 2 new Stihls this summer a BG86 and a FS130 from 2 different Stihl dealers. They both said to use the Blue StaBil for ethanol all the time and to start and run dry for storage.

I didn't use anything in garden tractors until six years ago and had to replace a $250.00 + dollar carb. that was pitted and messed up needle
valve seat.

Love Startron. It is the product to break down the ethinol molecule. Saves your little carbs ,hoses, etc. You can also go on U-Tube and see how to remove ethinol from gas. Easy as pie once you see how! My big bad Gravely C-10A gets AV gas in the winter. Starts every time when you need to blow snow. Everything else I have gets Hi-Test with Startron and the two cycle stuff too. My Briggs VTech engines do not like regular gas. They stumble now and then.

Startron is supposed to be an enzyme activated cleaner. Comes out of a lab in Florida, on the E. Coast north of Miami-Dade county as I recall. Forget the name of the town....Ft. Lauderdale????? Enzymes were advertised years ago as being in some brand of soap and seemed to be something that works hard for you to break down the bad critters. The ads had little "Pack Man" critters gobbling up dirt.

I used it in my diesel tanks when I could get it locally at a good price. Can't say one way or the other. Had no problems while using it. WW sold it in the marine depart for gas engines. Reading their fliers they say it's great stuff. I just can't say one way or the other.
