Oliver Hydraulic fluid

Just bought a 550 Oliver. Any reason I shouldn't use John Deere Hy-gard hydraulic fluid? Other tractors are all John Deere so would be nice to have the same in all.

those tractors are probably made with the same metal gearing... so why must they have different oil.

should work fine,, I would drain what is in it, change filter(s) and refill with your oil

Oliver's are probably the most tolerant, because the transmission is a separate reservoir. No reason you can't just to keep it simple, and then run 80/90 in the transmission.
