Finishing up the new wood trailer

I am putting on the finishing touches on the new wood trailer. Got the tailgate fitted and built with 4yoke and pin hinges so the tailgate can hinge from top or bottom, Fab up a lader on each rear corner to clumb up and rearange some wood if necessary, Still have to weld in the sheet metal plates in the rear gussets to house the tailights.
Temps suposed to get into low 60s in a couple of days, so my plan is to remove the body from the chassis, and squirt paint onto the body, out in my CBS paint booth by Friday. Never figured it would get this warm in Nov.

Adirondack, I don't know whose leg you are trying to pull but I can tell that is a metal trailer not a wood trailer. What made me do this? HA HA

Loren--you never cease to amaze me! Is there anything you can't do? Looks GOOD. I still can't believe there is that much "new" steel in the USA. Let me guess what color your going to paint in your CBS paint booth---DEERE GREEN?????----TEE

That is going to work great in your woodlot and at your shed ! It was only in '14 that the temperature dropped around November 15th and never got above freezing til just about spring or so. You just never know what you'll get. My guess for this year is it will drop out in January sometime. They (weather gods) must have known you have a trailer to paint! So I assume you'll shoot it outside then bring it in again to dry?

Loren,
Looks very nice. Are you building a dump trailer? You are a better welder than I, so I purchased a 10k dump. I didn't realize how much I needed a dump trailer. Don't haul firewood but I have hauled trees and branches to burn pile using the dump trailer.

Recently I had to remove a large evergreen that grew too big next to a house. It was rubbing on shingles. So I backed my dump trailer close to evergreen, cut off the lower branches, put in trailer. Then I cut off the top 15 ft of evergreen. Tree landed perfectly in the trailer. Hauled it to the burn pile, pushed a button and it was unloaded. Make short work of cutting down that tree.

Now you done it! Making that tailgate so it can lay down you will just want to stack more wood on it! Then you will be right back where you started from. LOL Looks great, YTers will be putting in orders.

Struck load to top of rails, it is 117BU. It is 10' long and 42" high. Heaped up but not stacked, I figure it will hold near 1.5 cord.

George, I have a 4X36" DA cylinder that will bolt to the tongue and fasten to the body with a cable system to dump it. Jon sent me some pics of dump systems on Minisota flareside wagons that I am using to design mine.

Yea, that was the last of the big heavy crates before they switched to returnables. I added 26" to the length of it with the end of another crate that had some bends in it.

Billy, Neil Esteno (sp) on CBS6 issued his prediction for this coming winter.
After this warm spell in Nov., temps will drop below normal for the season. No major NorEasters predicted, BUT a lot of Great Lakes clippers are supposed to be common all winter, with above normal snow fall.
Sounds like lots of OT for DOT workers this winter, if he is correct.
