Couple inside barn pics

Just a couple snap shots from the security cameras. The color one shows a few waiting to be milked in the holding area and a couple more getting fed ration in the feed stations. The bw one shows one side of the stall area. The white heifer with her back end facing the camera is a DavincixBaxter (for any Holstein guys) ,she's still only 1 yr 9 mo old 17 days fresh and already giving 35 kg/day at 3x and her cell count is under 20k,best heifer for milk for the age we ever calved out to date.

Try again

That's quite a heifer! I was never a fan of calving much under 2 years or sticking to a 11 month calving interval or 305 days in milk. If a cow was still milking over 30, I would sometimes let her milk another month before breeding....
I felt they would hold their peak longer and may be a bit easier on them. It maybe meant they would not have as many lactation, but they never died of old age on my farm anyways...! Ben

Thanks! We just started calving a few out at 1-10 this fall, one of those is giving 43kg @70 days, this one is the first at 1-9. I still like to see a nice big heifer too but they're working out well so far
