Hi .

I don't have a manual ... I am pursuing that . I know I need one BAD .
Just got this tractor 4 days ago .. it has set outside for a year or two ... got it running good .. but still needs carb work . probably mostly dirty .
Main problem .. 3 pt will not work ..... and when I try the lever on the left of the driver seat - sounds like something is grinding ..

The levers on the dash either don't do anything or WON'T move ..
here is a video explaining it a little better .

Thanks a lot ..

Long lever on left of seat is PTO, it's a goofy system that engages a shift collar, then an over-center dry disc clutch.

Your PTO clutch is rusted/stuck/damaged or out of adjustment, so it's engaged at all times, even when it's not supposed to be, therefore the shift collar grinds when you move the PTO lever to engage it.

Left lever by steering wheel operates hydraulic valve for remote hydraulic outlet/couplers.

Lever next to it, nearer the steering wheel, is the 3-point lever and connects to a Bowden cable that runs back by the seat base, and is the thing you found disconnected. Cable is apparently rusted/seized/ stuck. If the hydraulic pump is working, the 3-point hitch should operate when you move the little lever you found disconnected. Hitch is power up only, and MAY not drop from it's own weight without an implement attached.

The other little handle down there with the quadrant with the series of notches selects between depth control and load control, or a combination thereof.

Does it have power steering, and, if so, does it work? The reason I ask is that if the PS is working we know the hydraulic pump is running and at least partially functioning.

Which brings up another lever... the hydraulic pump disconnect lever, located low on the LH side of the tractor, below the clutch pedal area, Key #28 in the drawing. If it is in the wrong position, so the spring, Key # 32, is being extended, the hydraulic pump drive is mechanically disconnected.

More questions, post back!

Yes .. the Power Steering works GREAT !!

Hummmm .... I wonder if the 3pt linkage was unhooked ..... maybe it will work now ..
BTW .. I had to put in at least 10 quarts or maybe 12 quarts of hydraulic oil too ..

thanks so much .

PS _ is the left PTO lever down by left foot clutch ... supposed to be pushed down or up? thanks SOOOO much .. Gary

3 pt control lever(key 5,11) is located in dash on LH of steering wheel. Whether your tractor has 1 or 2 levers is determined by whether it has a single or dual rockshaft pistons. More than likely the operating cables(key 1,17) are frozen

The PTO Lever down by the left foot clutch....
Thats the disengage lever. I disengages the hydriaulic pump for cold weather starting. It should be down and leave it alone.

Below the right side of the seat next to the floor board you will see the lever that the cable hooks to (3 pt.hitch), this actuallies raises and lowers the rockshaft.

What model tractor do you have? You need to put that in post, not depend on u-tube that most including me will not try to find.

The heading with the model did not show up untill after I posted but things like that should still be put in post, not just heading.

It has 2 levers .. and thanks so much !!! this diagram is REALLY helpful !!
and yes .. the cable is FROZEN!!

thanks
