i went to auction saturday mustang 440 skid loader 5200 ford jubilee 1750 ford 9n 500?
i thought the ford tractors were some what of a steal. not sure about the skid loader it had a rebuilt engine and hydros

Can't hardly give away an old Ford nowadays, a decade ago a running but rough and tired jubilee or 8n brought 3500, with loader even more, now I see nice ones listed on craigslist for months at 1500 and not selling. I think everyone who bought one for the nostalgia of having one on the farm as a kid got old and died or moved to nursing homes and there tractors went back on the market and flooded it. Also nowadays many small rural living transplants don't know much about maintaining a old tractor, so something that most of us hardly think of like points and condenser or carburetor rebuild turns into an expensive job paying someone to do it and pretty soon payments on a Kubota or such start looking pretty good.

Once you have ran any of the newer compacts it's really hard to go back to and older tractor. Yep I'm spoiled.

As Mark said they were a steal,, 10 year ago. Now that's called what they go for. Commonly found 30s-50s tractors are not bringing much, not even the green ones. Exceptions are nice originals and the truly rare. Reasons for it is much talked about but obviously the supply of such greatly exceeds demand.

I'd say the Jubilee was over priced,I bought a nice good running, good tires,PS, etc Oliver 1600 Utility couple months ago at an auction for $2200 and its 5X more useful tractor than a Jubilee. Same sale had a running Oliver 550 that went for $1450 and its a far superior tractor to the Jubilee.

Interesting replies. Location means a lot still today. But in general tractor prices for the old ones has tanked.

Love to see the Oliver guys trying to plug them. Here you just about have to give them away. Here the only parts support is aftermarket unless you are up for a drive therefore not too desirable for a working tractor. Bout the only ones you see here are on a trailer. Can't remember the last time I've seen one actually working. LOL same is true with anything supported by AGCO.

I think that is way cheap for around me. Last spring estate sale a Junk and I mean junk 9N, had the transmission case patched, sheet metal totally destroyed but barely ran bring someware around $2,000 forget exact figure, parts only Deeres were bring upwards of $3,000

Still like my Ford Ns, but getting tired of working on them vs. firing up the Mahindra and doing some work. Both Ns need some work and don't have the desire to do it right now.
