Mystery smell in the house

Its that time of year that we start closing the windows. A few weeks ago the end of my house started to smell inside. Its a one story ranch, long and straight with the attached garage end narrowing to form an entrance/ top of basement stairs. There is a bathroom there which is odor free and the laundry room which also does not smell. Just that entrance room and the portion of the basement below it smells. I whole heartedly think it smells like those stinky china lady beetle things. The reason I say that is because my pole barn fills with them in the sunny fall and it smells that way. Its not mouse urine-ish and its not musty. Nor is it sewer gas or rotting carcass like. The house is on poured walls with 2x6 walls with foam and vinyl siding. I checked the attic for dead rodents, cleaned out and checked the dryer vent and no "new" boxes of anything have been brought in for storage. That end of our basement is our "junk" room which we will be thoroughly cleaning. I'm thinking there's a stash of those bugs in a wall or something. We run a dehumidifier constantly in the basement. Its driving me nuts!

I have something like that now and then at the north end of my basement. Take a HF one gallon sprayer and mix 50/50 water and clorox. I have to spray once a week three or four times. There is some type of a white fuzzy mold. Takes care of it.
