Disc Mower caddy

I have a Vermeer 6020 mower that due to health reasons is very difficult for me to hook up to by myself. This is the mower with the metal shield over the cutter bar instead of canvas. I have seen pictures of caddies for sale that would turn this into a tongue hitch. I would like to hear from someone with direct knowledge about the good and the bad of one of these.

I have a caddy on a JD 285 (10 ft) disc mower and use a 55 PTO hp tractor, the best thing you can have. It easier on the tractor and you both. Get it, you can be hooked up in less than 30 min. and ready to go.

I have never seen one, but I know that every time the subject has come up here they are praised like the best thing since sliced bread.

I have modified our mower so s quick coupler will work. Our tractor has buttons to control hitch makes it easy.

GET IT. I to work by myself most of the time and it is so nice to just back up and hook it up and go. T he hardest thing is getting it hooked up to the caddy. Not quite the neatest job if using a 3 point. Little slower on the ends and turning around but that is the least of my worries. I use a CaseIH 65 and it handles it well. Mine has a 10ft Kabota cutter on it. U won't regret it

What everyone else said. You can use a smaller tractor if you have a caddy. The only draw back is it takes a little more room on corners but no more than a mower conditioner.

Had mine 3-4 years now.

I'm with the "why did I wait so long?" crowd.

Takes the weight off the back of your tractor, and just sooooo much easier to hook up.

And yes, maybe you can't cut the corners as sharp, but I mowed for years with a haybine (still have it, still use it when I get another tractor driver) so it's no big deal.
