You may want to repost your question to the ford or Ford N. When I had hydraulic issues with my jubilee, the boys there were very helpful. I'm not sure why pushing in on the nut helps. Been a long time since I've worked on my 3 pt. I remember removing the lift cover and I had to remove the acorn nut. My follower pin was worn out along with most of the linkage under the lift cover rusty and excessive wear. If you have to remove the lift cover, buy extra lift cover gaskets. I had to remove my lift cover 5 times before I got it right. Good luck.

Acorn nut as in the one on the control handle?? I'll almost bet the control valve inside is sticking and then in turn the control handle is slipping on the shaft. I'd pull the inspection cover and then watch what is going on inside as you move the control.
