Hi everyone I have a loader that was put on an old tractor and every time I put a heavy load it snaps the shaft that hooks to the drive that turns the pump in the front of the tractor any ideas what it could be I didn't do this until lifting a lot of snow last winter now every time I barely lift load it snaps the shaft

Need to know what tractor the loader is on and how the pump is mounted to the front. Does shaft go through center of front axle or above it. Is the shaft properly alligned and is the pump bolted to the tractor or the loader frame.???? Lots of posabilities, but not enough info to answer your question.

Based on the amount of information you provided.
Relief valve not working properly.
Shaft too small.
Something crooked, bent, sideways, upside down, backwards or just not heavy enough for the application.

Thank you everyone it to Satoh Tractor and it didn't come with the loader the hydraulic pump is mounted to the front bracket and it has a Pully it's bolted to the crankshaft I tried to attach pictures I don't know if they went The alignment is a little bit off it sits about a half inch low

If its not lined up no wonder it shears a pin first get the pump in good line-up with the driven shaft
that will help as the pin wears because of poor alignment making it easy to shear.
